Lorraine Helen Badran passed away peacefully on Monday, February 8, 2021. Lorraine was born in 1930 in Los Angeles, CA to Elia and Evelyn Badran, immigrants from Beirut Lebanon. Lorraine graduated from Alexander Hamilton high school in 1948.

After graduating from high school, Lorraine worked as a secretary for the Fireman's Fund Insurance company. On June 6, 1954 she married Raymond O. Collins from San Francisco, CA where they made their home. She then became a housewife raising three children. In 1972 the family moved to San Mateo. From 1973 to 1979 Lorraine worked for various local firms as a secretary. In 1979 she began working as an Intermediate Clerk Typist in Administrative Services for the College of San Mateo. She retired from the College of San Mateo in 1995.

Lorraine enjoyed cooking and sharing her meals with family and friends. One of her prized possessions was her kitchen. She loved a clean white kitchen. Lorraine was quite social, and would strike up a conversation with any stranger while out and about. She attended St. Nicholas Orthodox Church in the 60s and taught Sunday School for a while. She enjoyed traveling, and especially to warmer destinations like Hawaii, and going on cruises with her long time close companion Roger LaRiviere. She also liked to dance and enjoyed listening to big band music. She would occasionally share her memories of dancing the jitterbug as a youngster and dancing to Arabic music.

Lorraine is survived by devoted children Susan Latour and husband Paul and grandson Christopher of Dublin, CA; Jeffrey Collins and wife Gayle of Grimes,IA and grandchildren Lucas of Rochester, MN, Keaton of Cedar Rapids, IA and Leah of Grimes, IA, and Craig Collins of San Mateo and granddaughter Christina of Portland, OR; nephew Michael Foley of San Francisco, CA and niece Erica Badran of Playa Vista, CA.
