Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather and Friend

Obituary

On Monday, February 1, 2021, Leonard Martin Connors, loving husband and father of four children, passed away at the age of 88.

Len was born on May 21, 1932 in Manhattan, New York, and graduated from Tottenville High School, Staten Island. On July 5, 1953, he married Anna M. Rebhan and the two built a lifetime of memories for the next 67 years! Len began his career as an apprentice toolmaker at Airtron in Linden, NJ. After joining the Army, he participated in teaching others in the art of the tool and die trade. After a successful stint in the Army, Len worked as a mechanical engineer for IBM for the next 40-years in upstate New York.

During his childhood, Len spent many happy days on the beaches of Staten Island and would often be found swimming to the buoys. He told the family often how he loved spending all day at the ocean, and recounted numerous boyhood stories that made us all laugh. These lazy days of his childhood at the ocean drove his passion for sailing and his boats the Xanadu and Marty Sea. Family vacations were the best, as they always involved going to the Jersey Shore or his favorite ocean-side town Cape Cod, MA. His family of six has so many fond memories of jumping in our tiny Volkswagen to travel on vacation, and later we so enjoyed many hours in our Cox Camper on the shores of Cape Cod.

Len is survived by his wife Anna, his three children, Kathy, Lenny, Cynthia; and was preceded in death by his son Marty. Len was also the proud grandparent of Kayla, Rachael, Zara, Avery and Teddy. We love you Dad!
