Tribute & Message From The Family

Maria Elizabeth Morales Arriaza, better known as "Betty" by her loved ones, was born February 15, 1959 in Manzanotes, Zacapa, Guatemala. She was raised in a Christian household and was the ninth child of twelve brothers and sisters of Silvestre Morales y Maria Antonia Arriaza de Morales. Always a warrior and hardworking woman, Betty was her father's right hand, and worked as a merchant and out in the fields during harvest starting at a young age. She moved to the United States in 1986, and worked in the food industry until present day, always loved by her peers and employers due to her unmatched work ethic, friendliness, and joyful personality that was contagious. In May 1988 she married, and later had two children, Leonidas and Jennifer, whom were her pride and joy. A devout Christian all her life, she was active in her local church as a member, Deacon, and participant of the woman social group. Betty was a sports fanatic and her hobbies included puzzles, playing games on her tablet, and spending time with her family, which she loved so much. Betty was a sweet, humble, silly y relentless woman that impacted the lives of all who knew her. Her family finds consolation during these hard times in that as a faithful servant of God, for Betty to live was Christ and to die is gain. She was the best mother, daughter, sister, and aunt and will be tremendously missed until the end of time.

Betty as we called her at Sodexo was such a shining light every day. I worked with her at Varian as cooks, and then I jumped at the chance to work with her again at Morgan Stanley when I hear she was looking to relocate. All the Morgan employees we feed every day are crushed by this loss, is is immeasurable.

I used to gross her out when I would eat soft eggs and runny yolk. Her food was delicious and her personality matched.

We will miss her always.

I will never forget Mama Betty.
