Tribute & Message From The Family

Alexander Jerold Jacklin left to be with the Lord on September 21, 2021. He lived a life of service, serving countless families as a physician and his community as committed follower of Jesus Christ. He lived a full life and leaves behind a family who loves him dearly and will miss him daily. Alex was affectionately known to those who knew him as, "Grandpa".

Alex was born in Seattle, Washington and attended Kennewick High School. After graduation he attended the University of Minnesota, UC Berkeley and after then the University of Washington School of Medicine. While at the University of Minnesota, Alex met his beloved wife, Lucille. Alex proudly served in the Army during the Korean War and was an active serviceman during his undergraduate years. After graduating Medical School, Alex specialized as a Family Practitioner with a subspecialty in Emergency Medicine.

Alex is survived by three devoted children, Mar Jean Emery (Geoff) of Lomita, Stephen Alexander Jacklin (Michele) of Vacaville, and Eve Marie Duran (Edward) of San Mateo; grandchildren Eleanor (Greg), Geoffrey, Brittany (Benjamin), Neil (Jane), Mary (Ryan), Philip (Allyson), Alex, Christina, Lucille, and Genevieve (Corleone); and great-grandchildren Madeline, Violet, Cameron, Mikayla, Chandler, Forest, and two more great-grandchildren on the way. He is also survived by his beloved sisters Diana and Pamela, and sister-in-law Rita. Alex joins his wife, Lucille, who he shared 52 beautiful years of marriage.

Alex will be missed by friends and family who loved him deeply and treasured his company. In lieu of flowers, the family would ask that a donation is made to Lighthouse for the Blind and Visually Impaired in memory of Alex.

Friends and family are invited to a Trisagion service on Wednesday, September 29th at 7 p.m. and a funeral service on Thursday, September 30th at 10 a.m. with a luncheon and entombment to follow at Alta Mesa Memorial Park, Palo Alto. Both services will be held at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 999 Brotherhood Way, San Francisco.

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith."
