Tribute & Message From The Family

Marilyn Catherine Pappas died peacefully on September 13, 2019 in San Mateo, CA at the age of 81. Marilyn was born on October 31, 1937 in San Francisco, CA to John and Mary Lane. She attended St. Rose Academy and Lone Mountain College in San Francisco and was a flight attendant for Pan Am. Shortly after, she met Angelo Pappas, and they were married for 51 years.

Marilyn, a lifelong homemaker, is survived by her devoted children, Michael (Nancy) Pappas of Modesto, Kathy (Mike) McBride of Folsom, and Suzanne (Dave) Cabello of Los Altos; grandchildren Monica & Julia (Michael), Sean & Ryan (Kathy), Vanessa and Juliana (Suzanne); Sister, Susan Kuhn of Walnut Creek; sisters-in-law, Elaine Kourafas and Bess Pappas, as well as many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Angelo Pappas and parents John and Mary Lane.

Her greatest joy came from spending time with her grandchildren. She especially loved to travel, attend theater and visit art museums. She also enjoyed playing bridge with her friends, shopping and having leisure lunches in Burlingame.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30am on Thursday, September 19th at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in San Mateo. All are welcome to attend.
