Condolence & Memory Journal

Rich met Hal initially in 1970 during a CSU student government speaking tour. Hal was president of the CSU Northern California alumni association and Rich stayed with the Dilsavers during his visit. Rich graduated the following summer and his first job was in San Francisco. Hal and Beryl took Linda and Rich under their wings and were very important friends in getting us settled in the Bay Area. They were second parents to us for almost 50 years. In 1975, we were honored when Hal and Beryl agreed to be godparents to our daughter Kristen. 29 years later, they were honored guests at Kristen's wedding when they also celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2004.
Rich will never forget the day during our regular visits when Hal removed his 1950 Colorado State University class ring, presented it to Rich, and said "I want you to have this." It fit Rich's finger perfectly, and he has worn it every day since!
We will deeply miss you, Harold Roy Dilsaver. We are forever grateful for the special role you played in our lives. You will always have a special place in our hearts. Rest in peace with Beryl in the presence of our Lord.
