Condolence & Memory Journal

So sorry for your loss. It is at these times that one remembers the greatest moments of one's life. The great blessing of having Dorothy around for many years and having her be able to touch so many lives in and around your family. Special thanks to your family for considering the families of our wounded veterans at this moment in your lives. Sincerely, your family and friends at Wounded Warriors Family Support.

Grandmother. Keeper of time and secrets and traditions. Like a giant tree standing tall in the forest and surrounded by saplings of different ages, you watched over us, nurtured us, and smiled proudly as our own branches bore fruit. Our successes are your legacy, our pains you burden. We can venture confidently into the sun on our own to make our own place, because you assured us we could do anything if we worked hard enough. If we listened to people and gave them the love that we wished for ourselves, we could be invincible, successful, safe, and nourished. We watched you care for each one of us and without knowing, learned how to do it ourselves. You were always there, strong and sure, to light the path. We carry your light now, through the inevitable darkness and the brilliance of another California sunrise, to be the best we can be. You expected nothing less. We can love unconditionally now because you made it look so easy. We always secretly envied the way you moved through life with grace, humility, and pride.
You gave us these things without saying a word sometimes. Thank you for keeping us safe and allowing us the room to grow on our own. We are forever grateful, dearest Grandmother.

Having grown up with David I was a fixture in your house. I remember the wonderful times we had playing cards in the kitchen with David, Chuck, and Elias. There were always those special days when we could convince you to make sopapillas. You were a wonderful person with always a smile on your face. You will be missed.

I will miss you Dorothy. I could not have asked for a finer mother-in-law. God take care of you.

Mom, you were a wonderful mother who taught us the important things in life: eat healthy, exercise, be competitive, don't drive too fast, and love one another. We thank you for all you did for us and we will always remember you and keep your light shining bright. Love you always, Eva
